about the same

I feel about the same. I suffered through a soup meal last night and had oatmeal and pudding so far today - more soup for lunch. So it's going okay. If I'm not eating anything, the pain isn't bad.

I am just really glad I don't have to worry about mine falling out like yours are! I'm surprised your ortho didn't give you extras to put in yourself at home? Mine was going to if she could have given me the elastic spacers... I really don't think I could have gotten them in correctly, so I guess it's just as well that I'm stuck with the metal spacers.

I'm glad that everything is going good!!! I'm really nervous about Tuesday!!! I'm ready to get started with everything!! The pin is subsiding a little!! Hubby is making chili for dinner so that will be nice to eat!!! he's such a sweet heart!!! In about 3 months he will be getting braces as well!! :jump: I hope that you can eat a little more. Try taking some more Advil/Tylenol. Thanks for everyone's support as well!!! its really been very helpful and motivating!!!

That's great that your husband is getting braces too and you can go through this together! Too bad you have to be the first one to start. :-p

I still can't even eat a marshmallow... sad state for me over here. :( I did expect it to be like this - I just didn't expect to have this much trouble until after the dang braces were on at least! I'll still go through with it, of course, but I'm already thinking this is all probably not going to be worth it in the end.

AW!!! I'm so sorry to hear that!!! I hope everything gets better soon. i really do. i wish there was a trick that would make this all eaiser. I can't eat very well either but i have managed to eat some soup and applesause. i was told by a firend to eat ice cream so your mouth goes numb. i think i'm going to try that later tonight.

Good luck and i hope that things get better!!!

Thanks. I've been eating a lot of pudding but trying some ice cream might not be a bad idea. Good luck with your brace day - mine is still a while away (Oct. 16?) because the wheels of progress at the dental school move s l o w l y!

Mery - thanks for the tip. I'll try that tomorrow. I did make myself eat something I had to chew tonight, but I'm not sure it was worth the effort. lol I've been taking Advil but it doesn't seem to do anything for me. oh well.

JJJ,

I'm sorry your having such a hard time!! i really hope it gets better. but you don't have much longer in them. you get braced on Thursday right??

Mine are still sore, and i really don't want to eat anything. Advil itsn't helping me much either, just with the headache. i hope you get to feeling better!!!
