I clench at night now. I had worn a night guard for 3 years prior to braces, and had forgotten all about this. I have been clenching, and I know, because I wake up every 2 hours or so, having clenched. I hope this passes!

Wow... I guess it's not just me... This has been driving me crazy! I have no idea if I've always done it or if it's new, but with my teeth tender it's not comfy and wakes me up.

I, too, have "bumpers", so the clenching is really effecting the two lower molars that they are on since that is the one contact point on each side of my mouth. It doesn't seem to effect the uppers, as they aren't really moving (my ortho indicated my uppers are really mostly just there to provide leverage should he decide to do elastics at some point).

At any rate, I hope this passes soon!
