I was sedated for the whole process too. I've heard cases of wisdom teeth extraction that didn't require stitches though. Maybe surgeon decided you didn't need it? On the other hand, maybe it's there and you can't really see it. The black hole you see is probably blood. If its there, you'll know in a few days as you'll be able to feel something bothering you a bit and if you use a flashlight, you'll see the white stitches.

My stitches dissolved within the first week, they were white in colour. The black stuffs I saw was the hole where the teeth was extracted from. It's been three weeks now, the holes are still healing. I was given a syringe when I went back for checkup a week after the surgery. I was told to rinse out the hole for 2 weeks so that food doesn't get stuck there and cause infection.

make sure you ice your cheeks within 24 hours of your surgery. It helps with swelling. I got lucky and didn't swell at all. I think if you maintain a liquid diet for the next 2-3 days, you'll be fine. good luck

Did anyone have baby teeth removed while braced? I have two baby teeth still and I will have to get them removed some time during my treatment.

ckdramas, i've been shining a SPAM into my mouth since i read your post. lol. yup, the black hole looks like a blood clot alright. still not sure if i what i am seeing are the sticthes but today (day 3) all my teeth feel itchy at the roots. and i am so over anything soft and sweet. if i thought it was a struggle to eat with braces i am now realising it's nothing compared to post-wisdom surgery!!!

four teeth removed

#19 Post by evyandzeek »

I just had 4 bicuspids removed yesterday...i am doing good today and for the most part yesterday. I am a very anxious person and was thinking the worst. I was awake while they did it because i too am afraid of not waking up if i go under. I kept anticipating the pain when they were going to pull each tooth so it was a little frightening. It did not hurt except when they were numbing me. I ate right before i went and so i was good throughout the night. ate at 430pm yesterday and didn't eat until about 930am this morning...trying to eat a banana (about 1/2 way now) and ate a yogurt. It was amazing how long my roots were!!!
in two weeks i am going back to get my wisdom teeth pulled. One has already been removed about 1 yr ago because it was compacted...unfortunately, i have an extra one, so i will be getting a total of 4 wisdom teeth pulled. Boy am i lucky!! :(
