My ortho doesn't even deal that much with kids, so I don't get the problem. Sometimes I think it's just my ortho's personality. Some people just don't like to have to explain things b/c they think that they are the professional and went to school for x number of years and that we ought to just TRUST them. That's the feeling I get from my ortho. I just with they'd understand that every patient is different and if they start to ask questions, not to get offended. Having braces is a huge part of my life now.. in many different ways. I don't know how they can expect their adult patients to come in and not be curious what is going on at the appointments, and what to expect in between them! It would be odd otherwise, in my opinion.
