Re: Awake during extractions?

For my wisdom teeth extractions I was put to sleep, but I was awake for my two extractions for braces... I don't remember feeling much pain from the needles even. But the worst part was the sound the teeth make when they pull them out! It was like a loud *crunch*

I would rather not have had two perfectly good teeth removed though... I just have a small upper jaw and there probably wouldn't have been room for all my teeth without the risk of crowding.

my lower wisdom teeth i was put out for, i didnt' have a choice as they were impacted and i was 16 years old.....

my two upper wisdom teeth i had shots of novacaine for......i didn't feel any pain but he had to put his foot up on the chair and pull like crazy.....one of them the root almost broke off and if that had happened he said he would have had to put me under to get the rest of it....digging around i suppose.....all in all i prefer to be awake, i have a fear of being under a general......like i won't ever wake up.....
