Good afternoon everyone and thanks for all the helpful advice and caring responses. I think I may be turning a corner (knock on wood). It's now been 4 days and 6 hours and the pain I feel while "doing nothing" is easing up. BUT, the pain I feel while chewing is another whole story. I haven't been eating anything except mac & cheese, soups, milkshakes and pudding. Today I attempted to "bite" a mac and cheese noodle instead of simply swallowing them whole. Owww! If that continues for the entire 18-24 months I'll resolve to drinking all of my meals because that is one bodacious pain!!! I think I'd rather starve.

I'll check back with you tomorrow, have a wonderful evening.

I felt pain for a while too. I couldn't bite into anything and chewing was hard, too. And my mouth felt like it had a mouth guard in for a week while I got adjusted to having brackets on my teeth. My gums were all torn up. Hang in there!
