Update: Went to the dentist today..my teeth are moving into place VERY nicely! in a month i may be able to get the rubber bands started! just a question for everyone....how long did u have to have those in?

Congratulations on your great progress!! Isn't is great to hear that from your orthodontist? Mine is a man of very few words, so if I hear anything like, "Hmmm... these are looking pretty good," I'm happy for the rest of the day.

I've been in braces for 14 months (since April 2010), and started them about 9 months in (January 2011). Im in my second "configuration", to get my bite aligned correctly. They really do work wonders, though they do take a little getting used to in the beginning. But after a week or so, I got so used to them that now, I felt strange without them in.

As for how long I'll have them in... that's a good question. I think if I asked my ortho, he'd say, "As long as you need them," or "Until we take them out." Smarta$$... :? But I'm curious to hear how long others had them, too, so I hope you get more responses.
