I ordered a box of silicone wax from dentakit.com. I stocked up and have those little cases everywhere! Worth every cent! I also ordered the little carrying case that has everything you need. Also a great purchase.

My orthodontist said if I ever found myself without any type of access to a CVS for wax to use a piece of eraser.

That would only work if you had a poking wire at the very back of your mouth. An eraser won't work on just a regular bracket. You need something like wax for that!
I'm the owner/admin of this site. Had ceramic uppers, metal lowers ~3 years in my early 40's. Now in Hawley retainers at night!

Yesterday, I was at a store that had silicone wax in extreme neon green and neon orange. (Designed to be used as ear-plugs.) I was chuckling to myself when I saw it because I was picturing it on braces. What a conversation starter.... Not sure I would ever have the guts for that.
