I've had them for over 10 months and my original estimate was 24-30 months.

My teeth have moved very quickly though, and really the only big problem we're having is with my left side bite. Once that gets squared away, we can move on to detailing.

I have a dream of finishing in 2006...but I won't hold my breath!

Had them for four years, treatment time unknown. Apparently I've got a lot of teensy problems that take a lot of time to fix.

I've had mine on one week sort of 2 months. The estimated time is 24 months (I have a hope that I'll be done before then since things weren't too horrible to begin with).

I have had my upper braces on since April 28, 2004 and my lower braces on since November, 16 2005 and I have a treatment time of 4 years! yes, that's right YEARS!
Which means after 21 months already I probably have about 2+ years to go!

REally depressing but what can I do...

Had mine on almost four months now. Estimated treatment time 30 to 36 months, depending on how long it takes my impacted canines to come down. Haven't had the exposure surgery yet. I go in to the Ortho next week and I think he'll decide about the surgery then.

Hang in there Hannah, you can do it! Who knows I might be right there with you timewise.
Braced - 10/04/05
Treatment - 30 to 36 months
Ceramic uppers, Metal lowers
Impacted canines-Crowding-Crossbite
6 baby teeth!

2nd canine exposure of one tooth 11/15/06

Hehe, doesn't time fly when you are enjoying yourself ...
Seems like yesterday that I joined this forum.
Now I have my braces for about 21 months. Seems I got mine just a week
after Hannah164 had them. I got braces May 3th of 2004. Don't know a
debanding date, all I know I still have a lot of issues that have to be taken
care of. An anterior open bite is one of them ...

I was told 9 months tops of brace wearing.. though I have a lot of crowding on the bottom row at the front. I have been judging my teeth in comparison to some of the teeth pics on this site and my teeth look worse but my brace time has been estimated at less than half the time of a lot of brace wearers on here.. it doesnt make sense to me...so I am preparing myself for them to be on for about 18 months... I have had them on for 2 months so far..

I am a little dubious about the length of time I am supposed to wear them because I was originally going for Invisalign but was not a suitable patient and was advised to wear a brace for three months to bring a tooth forward, then go onto Invisalign. So the a different ortho (who was fitting the brace) sold the brace wearing to me by saying that it would only be on for 9 months.. compared to 2 years in Invisalign and less than half the cost... time will tell if I have been duped.. not money wise but time wise..

I got my braces on January 24, 2005. I was told about 12 months. That estimate was pretty accurate since I am getting them off Februrary 6, 2006....Yippee! :jump:

Thanks Shawnie! Trust me, I need all the encouragement that I can get! I guess I've just been feeling a little down about my teeth lately! Hopefully you won't have your braces on for as long as me! :)

Clo: That's pretty cool that you and I were braced around the same time! I know you've seen a lot more progress than me for about the same time, but then again my teeth move a lot slower than most!

Good luck!

Yeah Hannah, it feels great to know someone is walking alongside me in
this journey. So we can share experiences. This is awesome. Some days
ago I had another adjustment and my ortho said she has never seen
teeth that are so hard to move. So I know what you are talking about.
After those 21 months, I have now teeth that look better, they are better
aligned. But my bite is very bad. So I know I'll have braces for a long
time ... Maybe we can see who can run the fastest to the exit of braceland.
