Not at all, i mean the first week there kinda bad, the pressure on the teeth can cause a little bit of pain but your teeth get used to it and your cheeks get used to the elastics too. I forget i have mine in alot of the time.

Its like everything, the first few days are the worst untill your mouth adjusts. I suggest first thing on monday you ring round and get a few consults before you get cold feet. Living near madrid there should be pleanty of choices and a consult dosent mean you have to go through with treatment, it would just give you a much better idea of what might need doing, the cost and if something like invisalin would be suitable to your case.

I used to have removable braces when i was younger and i hated them, they affected my speech and nobody else was in braces so i got bullied alot. Now im in full metals top and bottom, they havent affected my speech at all and at first they did rub a little but there good now. Im happy that im finally doing something about my horrible overject.

Yes, on tuesday I am going to look around for an ortho (monday is a holiday).

One last question: I travel a lot and I am going to study in Germany for 6 months; I have also planned to be abroad 2 months this summer. I know that you have to go to your ortho each month, but what should you do, if you are away for 2 months?

I dont think that should matter too much, my adjustments are supposed to be every 6 weeks but over the christmas period i had to wait 9 weeks and it wasnt a problem. If you are going over to germany for 6 months you might want to consider flying home to get them adjusted rather than finding an ortho in germany. I know here in the UK we have some good budget airlines.

"flying home to get them adjusted rather than finding an ortho in germany"
Is it really so difficult (or/and) expensive to change orthos, that I should travel 2000km. just to see my ortho?
Yes, I know that there are cheap airlines, but...

Hi all,
today I went to an orthodoncist (specialist) and she said me that I don't need braces. She also said me that she could not guarantee me a perfect resualt if I had them. So, it seems that for me braces are not a must.

She also said me that I may need to wear a mouthguard during night because of clenching, but the problem is that I clenck nearly always during daytime.

Now that 2 dentist (one an orthodoncists-specialist) say me that I don't need braces, I think that I really don't need them. What do you think?

It seems that there will be not another newbie on the forum.

Yes, I suffer a bit from anxiety, that's why I grind my teeth (yes, an ortho isn't the specialist who can help with anxiety or maybe yes :) who knows).
I have never heard about this kind of subconscious therapy.

I think its simple... get braces. If you're asking, it's obviously a concern to you. Don't wait if you don't have to.
