Wow looking really good. I hopefully only have a couple of weeks left of mine then the shaping of my front teeth can be done as one is a lot longer than the other which I don't like

Thanks a lot I'm happy so far! I need shaping too though, mine are really not a square shape so will need filing more on one side n stuff. But I'm assured they can do all that! Then whitening!
Have u decided on a retainer Jen? X

My dentist gives both removable and bonded retainer so I don't have to worry about deciding which one to have. I prefer the bonded as I had a brace as a kid and my teeth moved back so quickly so with a bonded one I know they will be permanently fixed in place and not have to worry about any movement and if for any reason it breaks I have the removable one as a back up

They are looking great Danni!

Get the fixed retainer girls! Ive noticed my teeth are moving back already! I've started wearing the Inman aligner again in the hope they will be straight again and I can get a fixed retainer but they don't seem to be moving back :(

Aww no! Will your clear one still fit tho if u have the bonded one fitted?
will u have the bonded metal one then have impressions taken for clear removable one Jen? So I guess ur dentist recommends both?
I wonder if u need filing again Claire to move them back into place again? I guess u will have to ring Adam n see what he says! Xx

Hi all,

I currently have an IA on my upper arch (inc arch expander) and looking to have one on my lower arch hopefully following completion of my upper arch. When my dentist took moulds to send off, he said he wasn't sure whether the IA would be suitable on my lower arch due to significant crowding, but I'm seeing him next week again for teeth adjustments so I'll ask again then. Just wanted some other opinions. Of course, an arch expander would definitely be needed if IA was going to be suitable in this case. Please see the attached photos and let me know what you think.

Thanks so much,

Hi all

Just thought I would check in with you all!

Thanks for the well wishes after my surgery :)

Claire, are you sorted now? I've just read that your teeth started moving back when you finished treatment. Have you decided to get the fixed retainer? I still obviously have mine and I don't think my teeth have moved at all. I have that and then I wear an invisalign shaped retainer for bed.

I am obsessed with them moving. I'm constantly touching them to check that they are still straight!

Sounds like everybody is progressing well. Bet you are all chuffed.

X x

Hi Becky!

How are you feeling?? Are you fully recovered now?

Well it's weird, I wear my Invisalign retainer at night, when I wake up in the mornings they are pretty much perfect, if they were like that all the time id be happy, but after a few hours and definitely by evening the front one definitely sticks out. Also I pop my IA in at least once a week and it's so tight. Driving me mad worrying about it!

I haven't been in touch with the dentist yet because I haven't got the time or the money to sort it and get a fixed retainer - I don't work from home any more and I go on holiday again in a few weeks.

I'm gonna wear the Invisalign 6 months then if it's still happening I'm gonna go in for a fixed brace and hopefully get him to file a bit more so that this one tooth has enough room to go back and stay back!

I'm glad that yours haven't budged. I'm sure your teeth have been the last thing on your mind though hey? Xxx

Following on from my post yesterday, just tried to put my Inman aligner in and it won't fit in at all, not worn it in a week. Guess there's definitely no going back now!

Yippeeee! I got my brace off today - it was only on for 6 weeks. AMAZING!

Next step whitening. Any recommendations on toothpaste to use to keep them white for good?

Becky I hope you are recovering well

xx

I've just had impressions taken today for an aligner! My main issue is just the overlapping front two so inman is perfect but I've been debating it for years now. But looks like I'm actually gonna do this hehe! Excited/nervous in equal measure

Hi guys, hope you are all well?

Just thought I'd give an update on my situation. After several different consultations I decided to go with the 6 month smiles on just my upper teeth and today is the day i get it fitted!

Wish me luck :o

Day 2 of the aligner done, and surprised how little it bothers me - got an expander so it's pretty bulky but so far so good. Speech is far worse than i expected though, feeling very self conscious but hopeful it'll improve somewhat

Fingers crossed the next few months go by very quickly!

I'm so glad I've searched and found this forum. I only got my IA fitted today and it's not as comfortable as I hoped . I'm loving reading all of the encouraging messages can't wait for the end result.

You will get used to it quickly, and once you start seeing movement it's even better because you can see some benefit to wearing it hehe! I'm coming up to week 5 and it has flown by really so hang in there! :D
