Today was a red letter day, I had pancakes. My first "solid" food in six weeks and I was so blissful to not have just had a meal of mush or goop. I am sick of Cream of Wheat but always thankful for it when I'm starved. Now, I think I will eat pancakes until I am thoroughly sick of them, too.
I need to try cappucino at home too! I can't drink lattes at Starbucks because something about them always makes me ill.
Lol the first week after getting my braces I made many stops to IHOP for pancakes. I also went nuts with drinking milkshakes so I had to stop buying my favorite cookies-n-cream yogurt because I was drinking 2 to 3 a day even when my teeth weren't sore....they just tasted GOOD!!
I hear ya. It's kind of a bad habit to get into! I agree with everyone, straws were made for braces!

LOL awww i know, i miss steak so so so much!!! Also, if only I could fit a chicken parma through a straw too, I am craving one bad! Cannot eat on my front teeth yet, maybe a parma soon tho on my back teeth lol!
Sorry to butt in.. but I would kill for a steak right now haha. I've also been craving coffee and curry like crazy but have to limit because of staining my clear ligs
I see people eating so much delicious food at work and it makes me sad ahh the sacrifices we make for braces
Oh I know! We eat curry about twice a year, but for the last month it is all I have wanted!!! I'm not sure how my silver powerchain would hold up to it though. I'm thinking I might eat one for dinner the night before my next adjustment so if everything turns a charming shade of yellow I'll be in the next day!
Soo lucky! 3 weeks exactly for me. Gonna make the most of it and probably have it for lunch too as its also my first adjustment so I dont know how ill be for eating after
I was craving liver the other day. Yes, liver. I must be anemic. I never noticed before but the whole world is full of crunchy food. Almost everything in grocery store is hard and crunchy, it seems to be a selling point. You don't see Doritos Super-Mushy Chips or Kellogs Rice Squishies.
I just got my braces on 3 days ago and was wondering if drinking coffee would stain the TEETH around the brackets and then once the brackets come off you would have those white marks?
I am not worried about the ligs staing (i have metal braces with silver ligs) but just wondering if the teeth stain.
is there anyone who drinks coffee with metal braces and do you rinse after or brush after drinking it?
I only drink 1 cup a day, in the mornings, and I have skipped my one today in fear of staining my teeth!
can any coffee drinkers help me ? as I would LOVE to get a coffee hehe
I use a straw for every drink besides water!!! I'm a big coffee drinker and refused to give it up. Lol. A lot of my friends who have had braces suggested the straw and I've have my braces since last July and I haven't had ANY STAINING problems at all!! I even carry straws when I fly to drink my coffee on the plane.
I've had a teeny bit of weird staining above my brackets on the bottom arch. My ortho told me it was normal but clarified today that he tends to see it in people who drink coffee
That being said, he said it will come off no worries with a clean and polish and not to worry

I am so glad that it will come off with a clean and polish THAT is what I like to hear hehehe.

Me too! I originally thought it was crazing and just about had a heart attack. Hearing it was staining after that made me happy
