Re: Opting for braces instead of Invisalign
i wanted invisalign at first but im choosing to go with damon brackets, clear on top and metal on bottom
Re: Opting for braces instead of Invisalign
I also had this dilemma. I went to 3 consultations. The first two I went in saying that I wanted Invisalign. The first consult wasn't even an orthodontist, which I realized afterwards. The second consult told me that Invisalign would work but if it came out to not be perfect, metal braces would be the solution to bring it across the finish line. And the last consult said that metal braces would make it perfect whereas Invisalign might not (very similar to some of the consults posted here).
I was worried that the last consult was not being honest and it had something to do with higher margins on metal braces, etc. But glad to see similar findings here.

Despite the fact that Invisalign was quoted at over twice the price, the result I was advised to expect was inferior. I also like the fact the braces are on 24/7 and don't rely on patient compliance.

That's a large gap in pricing. It was about $1500 difference here, but I did expect it to be much more like 1.5x.
