I needed to get powerchains at a recent adjustment. My ortho only had clear and blue available, so I chose the blue to avoid staining. Since I had another appointment two weeks later to reposition some brackets, I went ahead and got blue on my uppers also. I personally didn't like the colored ligs because people who hadn't noticed my braces were suddenly noticing them. At my next appointment, I had the uppers changed to something more discreet.

What did you change it to, to be more "discreet"? Silver?

Hey brace faces!

Just had my 2nd (16 week) adjustment, and went with a TEAL power chain for the summer!

It's my 2nd powerchain, those spaces are coming together QUICKLY! And good news from the ortho - I won't need elastics at all! Although I have to admit part of me was looking forward to shooting those things across the room.

I won't be getting ligs this go round, but I remember having such a fun time with lig colors when I had my braces the first time (age 12-14). I really enjoyed the glow-in-the-dark set I got after a couple of adjustments. I believe I had neon green and hot pink of those.

I just got my bottom braces on Thursday and will get the top ones and an expander (ouch!) this coming Thursday.

I got orange on mine, but was disappointed that the main crowded tooth was so far back that they had to loop a gray band around the wire instead of using the orange like the rest of my teeth. The assistant said that maybe next time my teeth will have moved enough for it to get the usual treatment.

i got new colors on my adjustment yesterday..which by the way HURT LIKE A *@#$!!!!!!

I'm back on my liquid diet for a few days!!!

I got my lower back molars wired in with a bigger wire on the bottom and i can so feel it!!!

not cool!! i also got tire wires on my top left front 4 teeth...ugh....that just about killed me!!! Had tears in my eyes!!!

BUT my ortho said i was lookin' good so far!!

he said probably a new top wire next time and possible banding!! woopie!!!!!!!!!!

So...here's my new pic..it's a little blurry so i hope you can make out the colors....they are electric pink and bright blue!!!
