No edit option so I will just post again, I've decided against the third option and I'm pulling the trigger, getting braces again for 18-24 months beginning in August. Will post current pictures in my old story and I will come up with a whole new story line to post :)

Thanks,
Tim

Is there a reason you didnt keep wearing the lower if the upper is the one that broke? You can wear just one.

I would start back at the original doc but if you do not like eachother then go somewhere else.
I did wear it then was shipped out to Iraq on first deployment well long story short it was lost somewhere in the middle of no where. So yeah I'm an idiot for losing it and bigger idiot for not asking another orthodontist if we could just get new retainers made.
Seriously, you are considering a board complaint againt your doctor when you lost your retainers and didnt get new ones.
That is pretty harsh IMHO.

Do you realize a board action is an attack on his license and thus his ability to make a living. Do you really think that is justified in this situation? Really think about that. Board actions have nothing to do with lawsuits btw. The board will not give you money, and the outcome (likely dismissed) will not enhance your outcome in a civil lawsuit (also likely dismissed as you were not following proper retention protocol)

In regards to his fee being high. I routinely treat cases in the 6 to 8 month range and the average fee for labial braces is $4200. My fee is actually lower than many others I know who treat in that timeframe.

First off I didn't say I was going to proceed with the lawsuit, 2nd off I never in no way said I was going to the board about the orthodontist. I'm not in it for the money I'm just stating facts that I have researched in my case. After having a second consult with a different orthodontist I have noted that there is a long list of things that could be done that even the untrained person could tell that I would need braces again for longer then 6-8 months and that I would also need an implant that moving a molar to close a fairly large gap is near impossible without cause further issues.

"Sorry re-read my post and your right drrick I did say something about call the board and start an investigation I didn't mean it to sound that way I have no intention to go to the board but I having a lawyer in the family thinks that if I investigate the guy and find out he doesn't have the credentials to treat patients that I would have a case winning lawsuit that is if I was to go through with it. I hate being a complete ass to anyone that's why I don't sue anyone for just the money I do my research and get opinions from attorneys and such before I file a lawsuit.

One case would be a guy that was drunk hit and totaled my car and drove off, there was lots of witnesses to the case thus allowing me to get the guys information and finding out that he wasn't insured, my insurance filed lawsuit against the guy and I filed lawsuit against the guy and both of us won the case. You don't wreck into someones vehicle and drive off cause your drunk that's just plain ignorance. Anyways enough conversation now :( sry if I confused anyone."
