I chew gum (sugar-free), eat potato chips, and other crunchy things like taco shells. No broken or loose brackets so far so how sinful is this, really? lol

Fun topic!

-> I don't wear the dang elastics 24/7 anymore.
-> I use my WaterPik rather than brush - if it didn't exist, I'd be a goner ;)
-> I stare and evaluate everyone's teeth and marvel at how much they need braces.
-> I stress eat PopChips and wonder when they're going to break something - so far, so good mwahaha
-> I suck down ice coffee and tea through a straw cuz they will not take my caffeine awaaaay

Let's hear about yours, Matilda. And don't tell me you're the only pure one around here!
 I think my one and only orthodontic sin are chewy candy and crunchy snacks pretty much on daily basis.
Good to hear!

Another Invisalign wearer confessing to NOT wearing my trays the required 20-22 hours. I'm usually good for the first couple days after I switch, but the closer I get to the next switch the more I figure, "Eh, they don't hurt anymore so the teeth are where they need to be already, no need to rush to put them back in after I eat!"

In my defense, this is the second phase of my treatment and in the first phase (Carriere distalizers) I was super-compliant, followed directions to a "T" only to end up with a bunch of adverse side effects that I'm pretty sure were directly related to me being TOO compliant. After that experience, I've decided rebellion isn't such a bad thing (in moderation, of course!).

I am addicted to looking at people's teeth - braced or not. I CAN NOT STOP.

I have eaten pizza CRUST.
I drink decaf iced coffee twice a day.
I don't brush after lunch.
I rarely ever use mouthwash.
I chew gum - constantly.
I have only worn my elastics twice since my last adjustment.

I love this thread. Djspeece you reminded me about that occasional cigar - okay, maybe it's more than occiasional (like at least once a month) and I'm a girl. What's your favorite? My new favorites are Rocky Patel anythings. Also, I just remembered that I held the flashlight while my fiance trimmed a poky wire with the wire cutters from the basement tool box!!!!

I eat popcorn every day..
I am addicted to diet soda. Eep
I chew gum regularly.
I bought my own wire clipper so I can cut the sharp parts of the wires in the back of my mouth.
I don't brush after every single meal, but I still brush at least 4 tomes a day.
I only floss one time a day, so I use a water flosser at night.

I used to take my archwires off every 3 weeks so I could floss like a normal human being. I dare not try now with these new stainless steel wires, even the ortho has trouble putting them in, not to mention the wires are posted with class 1 elastics and powerchains.

I occasionally do up my own elastic configurations because my ortho doesn't seem to listen when I tell him that my left side only touches...lol

I ate a macadamia nut which resulted in a bracket falling off. It happened in week two so I think they presumed it was just a bad bond.

Brushing is great, flossing happens maybe once every week or less, and I stress the less part.

Like a few people on here I'm not looking at your eyes anymore I'm checking out whether or not you've had, have or need braces.

Ps. I used permanent marker on a clear bracket just to test how stain resistant they were... the maker came off right away.

As a teen in braces, I used to chew gum and eat popcorn and pretzels.

Best laugh I've had all day  in the 4 weeks since I've had braces, I have: only flossed 4-5 times... Teeth so crowded it's too hard to do it (& too tender in beginning) I ate popcorn on weekend, I often don't get to brush after lunch, I smoked, drank coffee & diet soda pretty much everyday since getting braced, however I'm now officially a non smoker, having not had a ciggie for 2 weeks! Oh, and for first 2 weeks, I discovered you could suck chocolate (or at least put it in your mouth & let it dissolve- yum!)
