I got mine on at 14 and off at 21. Finally had my complete smile by 22! :)

Peg tooth (upper lateral incisor #10) & missing tooth (upper lateral incisor #7)
July 13, 2011 - Crown lengthening for peg tooth & bone graft for implant
March 2012 - Crown fit on peg tooth
June 2012 - Screw placed in jaw for implant
October 2012 - Implant set

I'm 24 and about to get a brace on my top teeth. I've had three braces as a child, I had a fixed bottom brace which resulted in a fixed retainer. I also had a palate expander and removable brace too so Minot totally new to braces....just braces as an adult! :-)

I've just had my braces (six month smiles) fitted at the age of 24. I wish I had done it when I was younger as I could've got standard train-track braces for free on the NHS rather than having to pay a lot of money for them but I'm glad I am now having my teeth straightened, I just hope the results are worth it.

I had them put on at 55 years (Jan 27 2012)and they are coming off 6 months early (June 5 2013).... my removal appointment is next week and I can't wait. my teeth will never be perfect but at least they will be straight. So I only celebrated one birthday with orthodontics instead of two and I will be able to eat apples again!

I've just had my 6 month smiles braces fitted at 27 years old. I've always hated my teeth but they've done most of their moving since I got my wisdom teeth, so I'm glad I don't have them when I was younger to go through it all again now!

I put it off because when I was younger I thought I'd look worse with braces... Had them at 19 and never looked back. 1 week post jaw surgery and feel like my confidence is coming back!

Had my top ceramics two weeks ago and going in today to get bottom metal braces put on. At 28, it was about time to change something I didn't like about myself and prevent future damage to the teeth. Looking at 18 months treatment and then another 6 months of full time clear retainers. Fingers crossed we stick to that and I celebrate my 30th birthday without them :D

Treatment started at 28, and if all goes well I'll be looking to get them off when I'm about 30-31. So wish I had started sooner but I'd rather do it now than wait any longer!

As a teenager my parents asked me if I wanted to get braces. I'm like 'No, I don't want to get braces, who WANTS to get braces?' So, I never got them.

Now I'm 39 and just got them. My oldest child is in the middle of his treatment and I figured I've always been self conscious of my teeth so why not me.
