I just got them at 30. I wanted them when I was younger but couldn't afford them.

Hi, new member here, this is my first post! I just got my braces 4 weeks ago at the age of 53. It took my dentist 10 years to convince me to get braces, and she finally won me over. I think, no, I KNOW she was more excited about it than I was. But I'm wired now, no turning back! :)

I'm 25 (26 in September) and get mine on tomorrow with a treatment time of 18 months, I have been waiting almost two years to have them on for various reasons but keen to get them on now as I would like them off by the time I'm 30 and before I get married preferably which is not on the horizon yet but has been talked about.

Talking about weddings I'm going to one next April anyone have any tips for hiding them in photos/dealing with the wedding meal?!

I was 39 when I finally took the plunge. Turned 40 in braces! Wahoo!

I will be 49 this year and have braces for the first time. When I was a kid, they were considered "cosmetic" and insurance wouldn't cover them. Over time, I developed an overbite and because of this it was easier for me to justify spending the money to have my teeth fixed.

I'm 5 days in and am glad that I didn't have them as a teenager. My self-esteem was fragile enough at that age, having a metal mouth would have made it even worse. I had enough to deal with back then!
