This may be a stupid question...

#1 Post by blondie111 »

I go in tomorrow morning to get the wires put in on my brackets, and get the spacers out ( )..... my appt is in the morning, at 9am. Am I gonna be so sore I can't go back to work after the appt? Just don't know what to expect, and wonder if I need to alert my co-workers I might not be there in the afternoon.....

After I got my braces, I went straight to work (My appointment time was at 8:30 in the morning) I was fine for a couple of hours but probably around 12 p.m. my teeth started to hurt a little and then my lips and cheeks started to get sore. I was putting a lot of wax on my braces because of this. So I guess it depends on how long you are going to be at work after you get your braces.

Hope this helps! :D

I think most people are OK afterwards. I don't deal terribly well with discomfort (and will use any excuse for a "sicky", as KK writes) so I took the afternoon off. But I was ok and my teeth really didn't start hurting until the next day. Even then it was nothing a little Advil didn't help.

Good luck getting those wires on. You must be excited to be taking the next step! :D
