Just call me BRACE_FREE!!!!

#1 Post by mtbrncofn »

Well everything went as planned and I got those darned braces taken off today. I'm very pleased with the results. I never thought I'd see my teeth look like this. I can't wait to whiten them though!

I can't say it was the most pleasant process in the world. The lady was brutal on my gums. They're still bleeding as a matter of fact, but it feels so neat to have them off!

The bonded retainer is nothing like I thought. It's just a little piece of metal that looks like a butterfly band-aid and it's just behind the two top front teeth. It feels weird back there, but I'll get used to it.

So here's before and after:

And after!

Thanks, Karen!

Well gentleness was definitely not her strong point. My best friend went with me and she said she could tell she was being very rough. I guess all the sanding and scraping off of the glue? When she first popped the brackets off, something got stuck and my wire was stuck up in my gums. My eyes were starting to water, it hurt so bad. Finally, I said...."the wire is in my upper gums". She hastily apologized, but man from then on, I was cringing.

I brushed my teeth afterward at the office and it was all blood. I just brushed them again, and still all bloody!

Some people just don't have that gentle touch, I guess.

Lovely!!!! You must be so pleased :D

And, might I add, you had very nicely-shaped teeth to begin with. But now that they're perfectly straight, they look just that much nicer :-)

Thank you very much, Leslie, nvcarissa, and sydsmom!

Of course I have been checking them over and over and I think they might have shifted a little bit already. Can't wait to get those retainers and get them right back where they're supposed to be!

Your teeth look great! I also think they look pretty white too. But I'm sure you want to have them just perfectly white to go with your new perfect smile.
