#1 Post by pucca26 »

I have been wearing braces for almost 2 weeks and tomorrow I have my first review  , is it too early for 1rst adjustment? When did you have your first one?

I had mine after about 3 weeks..since it is your first adjustment, 2 weeks sounds about right.

Whoa! Hold on.

It depends on what kind of braces you've got and what your problems are. If you're wearing Damons, you'll only get adjustments about every 8-10 weeks depending on your progress. With conventional braces, you'll be spending much more time in the chair but, again, it depends on your treatment.

My first was after about 8 weeks, and my next one will be after 8 weeks to the day. I don't have damon braces, but the packages the wires my ortho uses say damon on them. Seems kind of odd to me...

My first adjustment was 8 weeks and it seems every appt I'm going to have will be 8 weeks as well. I was kinda hoping it would be a little sooner between appts. but my ortho assistant tells me my teeth need time in between appts to settle.
Got my braces off 9/20/07 after 19 months and 3 weeks. WOOOOOOHOOOOO!!

Thank you all for your replies! :P
Finally I got my first adjustment today, only 13 days after getting braces, but I’m in linguals so it may be the difference.
I really thought the ortho was going to take all my teeth out, ouch! :yikes:
But I’m ok now
