bottom hooks

#1 Post by isabel1971 »

I am very curious...
I have ceramics on top and metal on bottom. My bottom brackets ALL have those horrid hooks on them yet, in the nearly 8 months since I have been braced, I have yet to have elastics. Will I get them??? And just what will they be attached to??? I currently have a powerchain from canine to canine on bottom.
Overall, fine experience, however...
Thanks for any replies. The ortho is decent but I really hate to ask questions because other people are always waiting for him. The most information I get is when I listen to him tell the tech. what to do.

I have 4 hooks to close up my extraction gaps. But they are the type which are attached to the archwire, so im guessing they are temporary. Supposedly im meant to be getting springs attached to these hooks at my next adjustment on the 4th of July.

I think they put them just in case. At my initial consult I was told I'd have elastics to correct my class 3(top molar to bottom canine), and elastics to pull my canines down, as soon as I got my top brackets on I noticed they've also got them on my laterals.
