It's technology that could change the face of hockey SPAMMERS LIKE ME everywhere.
Researchers at the University of Alberta are testing a dental ultrasound device that can re-grow tissue and save teeth.
A wireless ultrasound device -- roughly half the size of the nail on your baby finger -- can be inserted into a person's mouth. The machine gently massages gums in order to stimulate growth of the tooth root.
The custom-built machine can be mounted on a tiny brace or a plastic removable crown. It needs to be activated for 20 minutes a day for a total of four weeks for results to be noticed.
The device is still in the prototype stage but it's expected to be on the market within two years. It will also be capable of straightening smiles by stimulating jawbone growth.
Maybe braces will be obsolete in a couple of years.
