I actually tried it once when my powerchain broke, but failed miserably. (I had a sample of some powerchain that had been sent to me from an ortho company). I tried so hard, but couldn't get the damned thing to stay on. You really do need the correct type of pliers to do it. I tried in vain for 20 minutes and then just gave up!
I'm the owner/admin of this site. Had ceramic uppers, metal lowers ~3 years in my early 40's. Now in Hawley retainers at night!
I would never want to change my own ligs! Is it just me or does it hurt when you have them changed? I dont want to subject myself to anymore pain than possible!
