Expander removal

#1 Post by SmileyGirl »

I've read a lot of posts about having brackets removed, but don't recall reading about expander removal. Can anyone let me know how it went for them? I know that thing is cemented in there and I'm wondering how much tugging/pulling/yanking is involved to get it out. Mine is only attached to two molars.

Thanks.

I had a W-arch for 15 months. It was attached to two molars. They opened the molar bands and took them and the arch off. Sanded off the glue, then put new molar bands on. Not bad at all. It felt good to get it off, even though I had gotten pretty used to it.
