I think you will be amazed how quickly you will notice the progress. As bracedagain said, make sure you take photos to track your progress. It makes all the hardwork so worthwhile when you can see the difference.

BTW, you have some beautifully white teeth! (Can you hear my envy talking?)
You're going to enjoy having the braces on. I do! I have/had several gaps like you do, and some have closed and other teeth are straightening out and it's really cool to watch it happen.
