My archwire kept breaking after swiched to thick one.

#1 Post by jane2 »

My archwires was changed to thick ones on my 4th adjustment. But the upper one kept breaking at the same spot just before my upper last molar. Last time it broke only 5 days after the new thick wire was put on. I went to have it replaced. But now it broke again-- 2 weeks after the wire was replaced. The round trip to my ortho takes me 3.5 hours.

I never bite on hard or sticky food. I eat mainly cooked vegetables. Is there anyway to avoid it? Do I have to go again? Frustrated.

Thanks.
