My Water pik is dying after about 1 month of use. I was about to purchase another one and many of the reviews say the same thing about the units pooping out after a short amount of use. What models are people using and what are you happy with? :-}

Mine is a braun, I've had it for about 8 years without a problem. Granted, I didn't use it regularly for the first 6 years, but I did use it a few times a week. For the past 17 months I've used it a lot and it's still going strong.

Unfortunately (I just checked the braun site), they don't make it any longer. :x There must be something out there that lasts longer than a few months. Here's a link to Bizrate that might help.

Read the reviews! Especially this one's: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/custom ... &n=3760901 I'm not supporting it, but it sounds really nice!

I have the cheapest tank model available. But it is corded. I think the cordless ones will get where they don't hold a charge. I had my first WaterPik for about 20 years.

Wow that Braun you wrote about just set me to wondering, jennielee
An anomaly I'm sure...nothing else in my house has worked for this long... NOTHING!

Lucy, Here in the states you can get tank models for the same price as the cordless model.

I have the same model and KK and Meryaten and have been using it for about 6 months and it is still going strong.
Make sure to let the battery die all the way before recharging. Many electronics last longer if you do this, and Meryaten said.
Maybe you are just used to the head you have been using? Are you using the stronger one??... Have you tried switching?.. :roll:
In any case, Im sorry to hear the pik is giving you trouble!

I am on my 3rd cordless Waterpik since January. When the first one died after about 5 months, I called the customer service number (800-525-2774 in US)and they sent me a new one. I didn't have to send the receipt or the old one back. That one died a couple of weeks ago, so I called them again and they sent me another one. They said their warranty is for 2 years and they stick by it. The only problem is I am without a Waterpik for a week until the new one comes. If this one dies, I'll call them again!

mmadigan,

I bought a battery operated SPAMTRONIC SPAMSONIC SPAMONAIDE SPAMSTER SPAM SPAMINATOR waterpick from Sharper Image which has worked fine for the last 6-7 months. My only complaint is that I have to refill the reservior at least once before I'm finished. However, I recommended it to a friend who is fully braced and she says that with practice, you can clean your whole mouth without refilling.

Hope this helps!

I have a corded conair waterpik that I have had for 13 months. I would not be surprised to see it crap out very soon.It works very, very hard. :-) It cost me $30.00. If it dies I will have to buy another one until my braces are off. Here's to hoping it lasts until then.

I've got a conair waterpik that has been going strong since day one. It's loud but it works and I've had it for almost two years. It's a plug in.
