Got my Quad Helix out! Yeahh!!

#1 Post by LUV2SING »

Hi everyone, the dreaded Quad Helix is now finally gone. At my last adjustment, the Doc said "Let's get that thing out of there." It definitely made my palate larger. Unfortunately, my top front teeth are now directly touching my bottom teeth. So, I got my first powerchain on my 2 front teeth because there is now a gap. He also let me know I will be getting elastics, brackets put on my back molars, and a button? I'm guessing it will be another torture device to make me sore. I am reveling in the fact that I can speak again. I went to band rehearsal and realized I could pronounce my words again. Woo Hoo!! Does anyone else have a "button?" Could you fill me in on what they are used for and where they are placed? Also, since I'll be new to elastics, I'm wondering if they are putting them on too early. I thought they used those toward the end of the treatment. I have 4 different crossbites so it wouldn't surprise me to have them on for awhile. I've only had my braces on since March and have a 28 month sentence to wear them. I have 7 weeks until I get my elastics!
