brace (elastic) are put on right after extractions?

I schedule to have my extractions done this coming sept 27 and elastic to put on to close the gap on Sep,28.. 1 day after (24hours)dose any have or had have a similar schedule???

Yes. I had powerchains put on less than 24 hours after
losing 2 upper bicuspids last June. And on
October 9 I will have the 2 lower bicuspids extracted
at 11AM, and braces and powerchains put on at
2:30 PM that same day. I am very happy that the
"closing hardware" is being put on so soon after
the extractions -I want the gaps to close ASAP.
I have never exerienced any pain from powerchains,
elastics, or springs.

Yes I've heard of that being done before. On a different note: I had a big filling on my 2nd molar and less than 24 hrs later I got a molar band put on :( I thought it was too soon but it really was not painful on the tooth.
