allergy to braces

#1 Post by science teacher »

I think I saw this before but...

If I have a nickel allergy (ears and other places) should I be worried about the type of braces I get?

Also for anyone that has had stitches in their mouth, were they dissolvable? If not how long were they in before you healed?

You should always tell your ortho/dentist if you have an allergy to nickle or latex. There are alternative materials they can use if that is the case.

I had dissolvable stitches in several extraction holes. They started falling out around 9 days. I still had a few little threads in my gums by 12-14 days. THe oral surgeon took some of those out at my 2 week checkup.
They were not even in my gum tissue,it looked more like floss that was was very loose .
