plastic stretchy string?

#1 Post by Gel »

Hey I was wondering if you guys had ever heard of this.
At my last adjustment my ortho seemed pretty displeased with my progress, because before then my gaps had been closing pretty well and he wanted them to be closed by this adjustment and they weren't, so he had the assistant put the chains on and then she put this clear rubber type string around the gaps and tied it. It was wierd my gaps are now closed all the way, so apparently it did what it was supposed to, but I haven't heard anyone talk about it before.
Any insights?

It is called zinc string. I have had it off and on for about a year...on for about the last 6 months.
