Cermaics on Top Metal on Bottom

#1 Post by shrek »

Hi Folks,
I got ceramic braces on my top teeth last April. As there was a gap between my top two front teeth. Gap more or less closed immediately but i guess where one space closes another opens. Just wondering for any of u in ceramics did the treatment time take longer than expected. I see my ortho every six weeks. He is happy with the movement to date.
Last month I got metal on the bottom to align and correct bite. Overall i guess the main problem i had was only a gap in the top front teeth I saw movement more or less immediately but now I cant see any progress of late but Ortho says there has been not visible to me. Any of you find this with the ceramic??
Thanks

I agree with the previous posters. There is definitely movement going on even when you don't see it.

I haven't seen much movement for months now, and as frustrating as it is, I know things are changing...we just have to be patient I guess.

Good luck with the braces :)

Hey There
I had my ceramics on for 16 mos. (tops) and my lowers were metal (12 mos.) I was debanded on Nov. 8. I was estimated for 18-24 mos. So, I guess I got done sooner than expected, but then EVERY mouth is different. :o

Hang in there! It is worth it in the end!! :D
