So I've had my braces one week today...yay me!!! All still is well. There is no pain at all now. The only thing that is uncomfortable is when I eat I can feel my teeth wobble on the wire. It's such an odd sensation. Feels like things are very unstable and like there is nothing keeping my teeth from falling out of my head. I am sooo ready for another adjustment. I hope they change it to four weeks instead of six. I can definitely tell that thing have been shofted back just a tad. It's a small difference, but big enough. I have tie-backs on 4 teeth top and bottom starting from my canine to 1st molars. The spaces between my canine and 1st premolar are smaller already. I feel no pressure from either of the wires anymore. My two front teeth never hurt at all, but the ones all around did. Anywho...I just glad the feeling of my lips sticking out a mile is gone...LOL

Wow! I bet you are going to have awesome teeth when you are done... what a transformation for you!!!! :-) How fast does your ortho think the gap will close? I have the opposite problem... my teeth are all sitting ontop of each other!

Good luck and keep us posted!

Hi turrrtlelove22,

I have a question for you since we both are early in our journey and we both have alot of gaps;
I have alot of trouble with my speech (lisp!!!!), do you have that too or does it get better?

I hope I can get your answer...bye...Marvin

Hi, Marvinbrace...the funny thing is I had a slight lisp BEFORE I got braces. It's about the same now. I think. But sometimes my mouth sounds hollow sometimes when I talk if that makes any sense? I think it's from having to overcompensate getting my lips around the braces to make my lips meet...I don't know. It's hard to hear most of the time but when it's just 2 ppl talking it sounds weird...LOL. At any rate I'm thinking that it will get better once the teeth come together the way how they are supposed to.

I'm not sure about you but my teeth are seriuosly flared and jut out at a horrible angle in correlation to my skull...man that was a horrid xray...but anywho...I think our lisps will get better. It maybe just one of those things that come with having braces...

One thing I have tried tht works fairly well is to slow down when I talk and think about each word before I try to say it. Especially ones I have trouble with LOL....Hang in there and give it a try!!! :D :D :D

Hey Marvinbrace hope things are getting better... :D :D :D

So this is week 2 for me YAY...I'm surviving...hehe...jk...**^^**
What a better way to celebrate than to go have a molar band re-cemented on...LOL.

I been holding off chewing on that side. It's a little achey sometimes. The new tie-back she put on that side is pulling back on the reins...WHOAAAA NELLY!!! I feel the pressure...lol

Buttttt anywho...here are pics...I think my teeth are beginning to look a little bucked since it appear all my teeth are moving back except my two front teeth. I feel no presssure at all there...oh well. May the next wire will do something...yay...

Hello turrrtlelove22,

I'm OK over here, only my speech is still in intensive care...lol.
Hope everything is OK with you and your molar band.
Nice pictures and you can see on the pics of week 2 that the lower teeth are going back.
Nice movements for you....keep it going. :D
Let me know when you will get "chains" for your gaps.

Bye...Marvin

Yea Denise it did. It was that taste I just could not get out of my mouth...bleh nothing tasted good and I waterpik-ed ALL the time to try and clean debris out. Apparently I did a good job cuz I didn't smell anything when she took it off... :D

It's good to see some levelong out, but what I'm REALLY looking forward to is some space closure!!!... :D :D :D

Your ortho is possibly working at sorting a few of your alignment issues, before using something (possibly powerchains) to close the gaps.

Yea I'm thinking so, too. The spaces where the tie-backs are have gotten smaller, making me feel quite horsey in the mouth. My incisors top and bottom have leveled out, but more so on the bottom than the top. I recall her saying that when closing large amounts of space like mine that it could cause a deep bite. So I'm guessing there's that to deal with, too...I'm curious to see how it all plays out... :D :D :D

Thanks...KK. I used my webcam. The flash on my camera is on the fritz...bleh...At least they are a little clearer tho..yay...hehe. :D :D :D Sometimes I think nothing is happening until I go to brush and find some achey spots that weren't there before. I've got to stop clenching tho, makes things ache more...
