I am guessing I am 3 weeks into retainers now. I was buying something in a shop and speaking to the assistant my lisp is still pretty bad and so I apologised and said I had only just got my retainer in. She had a look at my teeth smild and said 'Well never mind I'm sure your teeth will be looking great in no time!'.... ie she thought my post-brace teeth look bad enough to actually NEED braces!!

I knew I had them taken out too early, when he sprang it on me in the chair what else could I have said but 'yes please!' I wish now I had said let me think about it for the next few weeks... my no 1's and 2's aren't level (horizontally) with their counterparts, my midline isn't straight, etc etc... Also what's more I have been wearing the upper hawley 24/7 as directed yet my left no 1 is starting to stick out forward in a buck-tooth stylee, it even feels tender at the roots as it moves!

Argh... what to do.. I am really disheartened and definitely a sad freya :(

You let a shop assistant spook you? Think about it: that person's opinion doesn't count for anything.

If you're concerned about things, have a chat with your ortho.

Yeah that person was most likely being polite.
