Braces tomorrow!

#1 Post by camille »

So tomorrow is my "lucky" day. I'm very scared. The only good thing is that I'm getting my RPE off. FINALLY! Any tips? How much do you think it'll hurt? Aaaaah, wish me luck! Thanks! :?

Hi camille,

That's great that you're getting your RPE off and getting braces, another step forward in reaching your goal. I don't know how it will feel to get your RPE removed, I'm guessing you may feel some pressure but I don't think it will be painful, if it is be sure to let your orthodontist know.

In regards to getting your braces placed, no pain at all. I just took KK's advice and used the restroom prior to my appt. I also took her advice of using chapstick because most orthodontist's office will insert lip retractors in your mouth to keep your mouth open when they are placing the brackets on your teeth - this also prevents any part of your mouth from touching the glue and brackets. The key thing is to relax. I felt so relieved after it was done.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Well besides going to the restroom prior (as someone else mentioned) I would keep chapstick with you just in case.
