Forceus spring? Forces spring?

#1 Post by NotBob1 »

Hello.....

It is not often that I start my own threads, however, after just getting back from the Ortho office and being told that if the heavier elastics do not do their job to correct my midline, I will be getting a forceus spring on one side and a reverse forceus on the other.

I can not seem to even find a picture of this on the internet....Does anyone know what this is? Is it a brand name for a Jasper Jumper? I found those, but they seem to be used for Class II and I am a class III, so I doubt it. My guess is that it is just a simple, small spring. I can't imagine it is that catastrophic or people would have posted about them here! :soremouth: ....I hope

I asked if there was a way to do it without this contraption and was told "Keep wearing your elastics every moment possible". Greaaattt....I already do.

Hi Tracy...

Now I see.....Forsus, not Forceus!!! Obviously a brand name..... I hope it's the flat soft looking one, but she did use the word "spring". Either way, it does not look cool. Maybe I will double them elastics!!! ;) I am completely kidding!!!! I know better!!!

Thanks, Tracy!

Has anyone else dealt with these?

Hi Meryaten,

I think so..... I have not heard word one about it since. It was one of the techs that mentioned it, not Diane herself.

The issue I have now is that I am being told I am getting an "overjet", which I did not think I had before and it sounds like it is something that is developing. I went in as a class III and was told that we needed to create an "overbite". I guess I need to A.) Learn the difference between an overbite and an overjet and B.) try to learn just how an overjet is corrected so as I do not get any surprises!

Sorry we missed you guys the other night! The shop has been flooded and booked out a month solid...My weekends have been full!

Anyway...Thanks for asking!!! If you know anything about overjet cases...I would love to hear!

Thanks! :)
