Hi!
After my second adjustment I was told that I need to get a removable expander to make room. Has anybody had to use a removable one?
Thanks

Hi tracy729,
I am currently in my final 3 weeks of 6 months with a removable expander. It hasn't been bad at all. The first 3-4 days were a little painful and it would occasionally hurt a little when I turned the screw, but nothing terrible. Learning to talk with it in was a challenge. Because of all the plastic the removable expanders take up more space than the fixed expanders, making talking difficult at times. I will confess that at times I cheat and take mine out for important discussions/phone calls at work. The best part of having a removable expander is being able to take it out to brush/floss and for eating.
Feel free to PM me if you have more questions.
Best of luck!

I had a removable palate expander last year it was fine, not too bad. Just practice the talking and you will be fine!

You can see from my pictures the difference it made to my teeth.
I had mine from April to about July and turned it twice a day!
Didnt really hurt at all just very gentle presure and some tender teeth!![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
