I had my braces placed on by the indirect bonding method. I was in and out quick. Make sure to put on some chapstick before you go in there. I didn't have any pain until the next day so enjoy it while it last!
Getting the braces on was a snap. I can't really tell you exactly what was going on because I didn't feel a thing. As a matter of fact, the chair was all the way reclined so I was lying flat and was pretending I was lying on the beach and for a second, thought I was going to fall asleep! I basically just laid there for an hour and rinsed occassionally. The worst part was the waiting in between steps. My assistant did a lot of the prep work and the orthodontist placed the brackets and grinded down one of the braces that was hitting one of my upper teeth, so there was a lot of waiting for her to come back into the room. Plus, there was waiting when some of the stuff had to dry. So if waiting is the worst part, you have nothing to fear! Getting the molar bands on was a little unpleasant, but not painful. It took about an hour to get my top and bottom braces on and then the orthodontist went over brushing techniques, foods to stay away from, etc. I didn't have any pain the first day at all. Minor pain when I woke up the next morning, but it went away within a half hour of waking up.
Sweetie, how did it go? I hope it went as smoothly as I think mine did yesterday!
I had stocked up on yogurt and protein shakes, but I'm already getting more adventurous with eating and tackled a mac-n-cheese microwave meal for lunch. Aside from the 45 minutes it took me to eat it, and the 10-minute cleaning/brushing afterward, everything was fine. Good luck!
Hi Jen
It when very good I was expecting something really bad, I guess everyone think the worst when is not. I around 7:20 I still no pain I hope stays like that. I can’t deny is really difficult to close my mouth (close my lips) for most part I am showing me teeth and I will like to hide them, but when I do my mouth looks force, you know what I mean. I ate soup for launch and pasta for dinner, more that difficult it was messy, everything get stuck in your front brackets and does not look pretty.
Ok I hope to hear from you too, to share our experiences.
