Finally, some good news. Yesterday while my kids
saw the ortho for a routine visit, I asked him
if he could do anything to stop a new and heavier
lower archwire from tearing up the inside of
my mouth (waxing and rinsing aren't helping).
He took a look, pronounced the huge gashes
"unacceptable", and then suddenly he said the
magic words! "Let's close those gaps". Right then
and there, without my even having an appointment,
he put on a long-awaited closing loop wire on
my lower arch. It's weird-looking (sorry, no pix),
and not exactly painless...but I am so thrilled
just knowing that these awful frontal gaps
(between incisors and canines) are on their
way to closing. Now, if only he could do the same
for the upper arch, where the same gaps are REALLY
noticeable...
Got a closing loop wire -hooray!

The closing loop wire has been used on my uppers since my extractions in June-November. Great Results in a short time, then it was taken off for my second molars to be banded and it was put back on in Feb, I actually asked for it to go back on, as ugly as it is it gets the job done.
Braces to be removed June 2007!!! In time for the big day!
