Gum Tissue

#1 Post by pandabear »

I've had my braces removed a couple of months ago and have noticed that about 3 or 4 months prior to having them removed, my gum tissue grew and became bulky(they are perfectly healthy, not red or swollen), causing my upper lip and cheeks to become puffier and swollen in appearance. I really don't like this as I use to have a thinner more defined face. Has anyone ever experienced a growth in their gum tissue while on braces?

I may be tottally off base here, but maybe the gums look bigger because the roots have moved to a different place than before causing gum line to change. Just a thought.

The gum line is perfectly normal but the problem is the top part of the gums are protruding out instead of being flat like most people's. It's like I have this huge bulk in my gums. :(

I have a 'gummy smile' and a little extra gum on top....so when I get the braces done, I will prob get the gum contouring procedure to get rid of the extra and make my teeth look a little larger, mine are tiny.... :)
