Finally braced!

#1 Post by Kris721 »

This morning I finally got my bottom braces. I wasn't bothered by them until this evening and now my teeth are throbbing. I'm taking Motrin for the pain, and I'm sure it's taking the edge off, but it's a bit uncomfortable. I have a feeling it will be a long 18 months  Here are some pics, before and after:

Sorry the braces shot is so small - I didn't have any other pics that were clear enough.

I still have the pendulum  and I'm at the point where I'm going to tell them that at my next appointment I want it removed and ceremonially destroyed

Thanks for the tips. I was terrified of eating anything on day 1, and stuck to soup. By day 2 I was famished and soup was not going to cut it! I had pizza last night, cut into extremely small bites - which took forever to eat. I bit down on the pizza crust, which was soft by the way, and somehow my fingernail caught my wire and pulled it. OUCH. Nothing came out of place and I'm sure it was just a small tug on the wire, but I almost flew out of my skin. I think even childbirth pales in comparison to tooth pain!

Hey there Kris!!!! You finally got your braces on, congrats!

I got my lowers on, and now with those wide spaces that damn pendulum created, i am constantly CHOKING on my food!! Is this happening to you?? Please be careful! This combination (Braces and pendulum) is tricky!

I'm getting my pendulum off in one month. I want to stomp on it when it comes off. I CANT WAIT!!! :-)

Keep me updated, it's nice to talk to someone who knows about the hell that is a pendulum. (Note how I've gone down hill with the stay positive with this damn thing.... :) )
~ Pendulum on December 1st
~ Damon lowers March 27
~ PENDULUM OFF MAY 22nd!
~ Palatal Bar installed May 22nd..
