2 days after getting wired you will probably still be a bit sore, but I found that with a little ibuprofen the only time I noticed the soreness was when I ate.

You will be able to talk just fine. Most talking has more to do with the tongue than it does teeth and your tongue won't be affected - unless you are getting an expander too. I found that my brackets hung up on my lips/cheeks a little, but it was not a big deal.

When it comes time to present, focus on the presentation. The audience won't make an issue of your new hardware unless you do.

Best of luck with your braces and the presentation.
Expander in 8/9/06
