New equipment.

#1 Post by Tin Indian »

 Since being braced, how many extras has your ortho added to your teeth other than the occasional new wires? Me-so far I just had two bands added to teeth that had crowns and the spacers that were needed to fit the bands. And I have wire ties instead of rubber ligs ( my choice).

You've been getting off light.

All the extra toys I've got have been for elastics. I had ceramic "buttons" attached to the outside of my premolars and "hooks" fashioned to the inside of my upper canines and outside of lower no. 2's. The canine hooks are still in use nights, but the rest have been decommissioned. For now.

So far.....
Powerchains, wire ties, springs and a bite plate. I think the serious stuff starts next Wednesday.

I had some wire ties for my first 6 weeks. Now it's power chains all around. And the nance. And headgear.

How come everyone has all these cool things in their mouths? I only have a power chain on the bottom and it's only from my canines to the 3rd molars... No headgear, no mention of it but I'm assuming elastics are coming in the future to close up some gaps. But nothing as cool as headgear, buttons, turbos, bite plates, masks, NOTHING! I feel like I'm being jipped out of a meaningful experience. Luckily, no mention of orthognatics surgery, but it would be okay too since my brother is an OS. Hahaha but I want all those cool things like the rest of you!

Send me your address and I'll send you an old bite plate. Nah you don't want to do that to yourself. The extras may "add to the experience," but they also add to the things to take care of. The more equipment to deal with, the more equipment you have to deal with (hope that makes sense).
