ortho went away for holiday

hi guys,
I just got my braces on (both upper and lower) 3 days ago (24/04/07)...
but when I booked for my 1st adjustment, the ortho said that she'll be on holiday at that time ... and pushed back my appointment up till 26/06/07
The thing that worried me so much is..will my teeth become affected because of the adjustment delay? or is it just me who is panic at this stage?

I got some good news and bad news..
The good news is I can eat bread + noodles + rice + pasta + fries and its been 3 days since Im braced
..
however, the bad news is...I did not feel any pain that you guys have experienced. during the first 2 days perhaps, but on the 3rd day, its all gone..the only thing left is just this uncomfortable feeling of biting, chewing, as well as closing mouths..
is it common for people getting braced not to experience any pain within 3 days of their orthodontics treatment?
Once again, thank you for the Assistance that u guys have provided here..it helped me a lot

I would have to say that "no pain" is more common than pain! I'm not sure how you got the impression that most people feel pain after being braced, but it's not the case.
(I just wanted to be the first one to say this, because I know a lot of the regular posters would say this and I wanted to beat them to the punch!)

I've been braced for 3 days. I'm so jealous of you, I've been very uncomfortable with braces. I'm sure it will get better, but It doesn't feel too good for me.
I guess the good thing that will come out of it will be my waistline.

I wouldnt say that I was in a huge amount of pain, more discomfort than anything else. Chewing was a challenge but I got through it. I have days where the pressure is on, there is no doubt my teeth are being moved against their will, but mostly I don't feel anything.
Most of the discomfort is this new pressure on your teeth that you aren't used to, also all that stuff in your mouth that again you aren't used to.
My next/first adjustment is may 17 not quite a month after banding.
