What BRAND of speed braces do you have?
I had Damons and they are considered "speed" braces. I think there is actually a Speed Braces brand, but so many fall into that category....I don't want to assume anything.
Adjustments feel pretty much the same regardless of your brackets type. The major differentiating factor is the PERSON.
My first adjustment was fairly typical. Immediately after the adjustment, my teeth felt tight. The wire was new so everything seemed to be in "stress".
About 12 hours after, I started to feel some pain associated with the ligaments letting the teeth go. All was well again after the 4th or 5th day.
I had 10-12 weeks between adjustments. The resulting treatment took 21 months. Included elastics and followed a fairly traditional course.
Let us know how things go with you! We love to follow progress and cheer people on!!

yep...varries from case to case. I've a friend who's daughter got them on the day her braces were put on!!
I got mine in the last 6 months or so. I had 4mm overjet to correct at about 1mm a month it goes SLOWLY!!
Your ortho will know what is best for you.
Just knowing that you get them in the future is good. You are prepared
Some people don't know about it until the day they get them.
Keep up the positive attitude!!
Thanks, Maryaten, for reminding me of the system....I had lost that little connection!![wink ](./images/smilies/wink.gif)
