Should I leave my current ortho????

#1 Post by starzin »

Hi to all my BB's (Brace Buddies)---
I have a question regarding treatment and whether I should continue with my current ortho or get a second opinion.
I've been in Damon 3's with jig wires (double elastics) for about 1 year 1/2 now.
On a recent visit, my ortho took off the Damon's and told me that I would have a "vacation" for about 2 weeks! YIPEEE -- still had the back brackets on though.
I went back and he put regular braces on and plans to use micropins with ligatures for another year.
I really am very hesitant about all this.
I received some positive replies from the message board about the micropins---but it really does sound painful and worse it will be an additional $1,000.
I've already prepaid $7,000.
What do you guys think???
Thanks as always!!!!
