What are the small hooks for on the brackets? I can understand the ones on the molars because maybe i will be getting elastics, but i have hooks on most of my brackets.
Hooks: These are 2-3 mm long posts that are found on bands, molar tubes, some brackets, and even on some thicker archwires. Hooks are used to attach small elastics or ligatures.

hmmm, I wonder: at my last adjustment my ortho announced that I wouldn't be needing elastics after all... I wonder if I can have them trim those hooks off now? But yeah, they came standard on the bracket.
