My ortho gave me a card about my spacers when I had them put in. According to them, if a spacer falls out, you can use a length of dental floss and try to floss it back in (if you have the "rubber band" type spacers). If that doesn't work, you'll need to call your ortho so they can put them back in. The spacers have a very important job. If they don't stay in as long as they are supposed to, your ortho may have to delay putting your braces on!

yeah spacers can be put back in if you happen to catch it before swallowing ;)

Mine were in 6 days and I was told after day 4 not to worry about it - but if it fell out before that I would have to have them put back in. I don't know about you but it took my ortho a good effort to shove them in! I don't know how successful you'd be doing it on your own. good luck.

Hi EmmyD
I had the same problem! I actually had 4 of them placed @4:45pm and by 6pm 1 had fallen out, and another had snapped, but stayed in there. I called and they said well you must not have needed them in BUT come in next Monday and we'll put them back in. So Monday came around and I went back in and by then they were all out but 1. They pulled that one and replaced them all.
Let me tell you,!, They hurt like hell and still do, they have all stayed in and that will be 2 weeks ago on Monday.
I say that since your paying all that money have them replaced!!!!
