Just curious as to how many people have the InOvation C braces. I didn't realize there are so many different types of brackets! I remember the ortho telling me back in the Fall of 2006 that these brackets had JUST come in and was very excited about them. He told me he had been waiting for these one. I wonder if they were first introduced in the United States. (Canada here).
Hi. I just got the new InOvation C brackets last Wednesday! I was very happy when I learned that the self-ligating brackets were available in clear ceramic. I love them! I actually found out about them online and asked my orthodontist about them. He read up on them and ordered them especially for me! I was the first patient that he put them on so everyone on the office had to see them as soon as they were 'installed'. I couldn't be happier with them. The worst part on Day 1 was getting used to the way they felt in my mouth...they felt huge! However, I have very little mouth or tooth pain and everyone seems amazed how unnoticeable they are. Looking back, I can't believe how much I was dreading getting braces at thirty. They are literally no big deal, they are not uncomfortable, not too terribly noticeable, and in just under a week I can already tell that some of my teeth are moving. I get my bottom brackets, the front six in the InOvation C, put on in just under three weeks. I can hardly wait and am looking forward to my new smile and bite. This time next year I should be very close to getting them off. Yay! For anyone who is older, who is thinking about getting braces but dreading it, I'd have to say it's not nearly as bad as you'd think it is...it's really no big deal. Once you make the decision, you'll never regret it!
I've had my In-Ovations since June 1, and I have been very pleased so far. I had metal braces for two years as a kid with a whole range of colored ligs, so I decided to go for discrete this time. Actually these were the only ceramics my ortho offered me, as my teeth are tiny and most ceramics are fairly large.
I got my In-Ovations May 30, and I was so surpised and happy! I knew I was getting ceramics on top, but I didn't know they were self-ligating until they told me as they were putting them on. I am die-hard curry fan and love my coffee so this was hugly serendipitous for me.
On the other hand, I had researched on this website that there are subtle, stain resistant colors for ligatures too,grey/silver/smoke, so it wouldn't have been a big deal to have the ligatures, either.
Who knows, I might even get so comfortable with these braces that I ask my ortho to put on green and red ligatures for the holidays!
